Post image for Are You Looking For A URL Shortener? Look no further…

In a previous post of mine I talked about how, if you are using WordPress, you can use a URL shortener plugin to quickly create easy to remember links without any coding skills. And while that is a great product you may not want to use your blog for short links, so you’ll need a different solution to get the same effect…

The good news is that I have recently gotten a hold of a piece of software that is squarely aimed at people who don’t want to write any code, don’t want to have to deal with databases or playing about in their cPanel acounts, just to get a URL shortener that just works.

It’s called Link Supercharger and it’s been put together by a couple of internet marketers here in the UK with the express intention of ensuring it can be used by even the most technically challenged person. In fact one of these guys is a self confessed technophobe himself, so if he can install it and get it up and running then there really is no reason why you can’t either!

I’d recently decided that instead of running all of my affiliate links through my blog with a link like stefandyke.com/likes/productname I wanted to use my own branded URL shortener that made it easy for people to remember the links I recommended as well as building awareness of who I am.

And when I was introduced to Link Supercharger I quickly realised that this was the tool that was going to make my quest to do so that much easier. I mean they have a video on their salespage that shows the tool being installed in 94 seconds, so it can’t get much easier than that.

Naturally I decided to grab a copy and register a new domain name so I could try it out and the good news is that the setup is as simple as it looks. Upload a file, visit it in your browser, complete a couple of fields and ‘hey presto’ you have your own personal URL shortener up and running.

And it doesn’t get any more complicated once you log into the tool itself and start creating your links, even if you might find yourself a little bit stuck their are complete step-by-step training videos available to show you exactly how to use the tool, both in it’s simplest and more advanced format.

So if you are looking for a URL shortener to call your own I highly suggest that you take a look at Link Supercharger. It’s simple to use, quick to setup and it’s well supported meaning even if you do run into some trouble the guys will help you out and make sure everything works as expected.

Oh, and one last thing… you can currently pick Link Supercharger up as a WSO for a fraction of the original price, just follow my fancy link below (created using my own URL shortener – cool huh?) and grab yourself a bargain (and a great bonus!).

Post image for Trying To Get Traffic… Check Out These 3 Top Traffic Tips!

One of the things that most people struggle to do well when it comes to marketing online is create enough traffic to their own or affiliate offers. And while there are plenty of products that will show you how to get more traffic I thought I would tell you a little bit about a report you can download which won’t cost you a cent.

This report has been put together by a guy by the name of Dave Whitworth and in the interest of full disclosure he is a fellow student in John Thornhill’s Partnership to Success program, so I am probably slightly biased when it comes to recommending his report over any other.

Now this is not to say that Dave is just some random bloke who is getting training like I am, in fact he has previously released traffic generation products that have taught plenty of people how they can go about getting traffic to their sites.

If you’re interested in checking a couple of them out go and take a look at 30 Day Traffic Flow and PDF Treble Top, I’m sure you will see that they are all great looking products (feel free to pick up a copy of each if you like).

Anyway, back to the point of this post… Dave has decided to release a great new report that goes into more detail about 3 of his favourite methods for generating traffic, which are:

  • Forums for Traffic
  • Article Marketing
  • Blog Commenting and Posting

For each method he spends time talking about what each of the techniques are, why they work and how to make them work for you. He really doesn’t leave anything out and if he wanted to he could probably create a Clickbank or JVZoo offer for this and sell it for $17, but he’s decided not to.

And this is good news for you as it means you can get your hands on some great traffic generation tips to help get eyes on your blog, affiliate offers or your own products without having to spend any of your hard earned money.

Even better news is that Dave’s letting people like me just give it away, no opt-in or anything. So click on the download button below and grab your copy of this great traffic generation report today.

Put the tips into practise and I’m sure you’ll see results in no time.

Oh and one last thing, if you’re interested in getting a copy of the report that you can brand and giveaway yourself then head on over to 3 Top Traffic Tips and sign up, it’s a great way to provide free content to your blog readers or people on your list.

Post image for What's Not To Like? Check Out My Facebook 'Like Page'…

There’s been a lot said about Facebook for marketers and how it can be really useful to build one’s business, however up until recently I haven’t spent much time thinking about using it to engage with prospects and customers. Even personally I haven’t used it that much, other than to provide a few updates here and there.

Recently Facebook decided to make a number of changes to the site and introduce a few updates which I’ve decided I quite like. Having not been using it to date from a marketing standpoint I wasn’t really affected by the perceived negatives of these changes, so I had an opportunity to start fresh with Timeline and I have to say I actually think it works really well.

The cover image is a great opportunity to make an immediate impact on people viewing the page and while you can’t use it for promotional purposes or to request likes to your page you are still able to include some messaging to prompt users to take action.

The content underneath this area, the about blurb and page links make it easy to find additional content that you’d like people to see and of course you can then draw people into a ‘like page’ to generate those likes that people are after.

If I’m honest though I think the layout of the timeline below all of this is where the real benefits lie, after all just look at the extra width and the space you have to include engaging, useful content for your prospects and customers.

Videos look great when added to the page and images are given a ton of space to really stand out on the page, while also providing clear options to users to Like, Comment or Share your content with their friends spreading your reach even further.

You still retain the ability to create those ‘like gate’ pages that were so popular however in the new format you can’t force people to see them when they first arrive, but if you really want someone to see it first then how about just linking to that page in the first place?

On the other hand, why not just keep adding useful, engaging content to your timeline and then mention that you have some free content to give away to people who choose to ‘like’ your page and direct them to that page via a link?

Of course it might not be as effective as the old method but then I suspect that the relationships that are build with customers and prospects via this new Facebook layout will actually be stronger than the old ones, after all you’re going to have to provide more value in the first place to keep people coming back.

So I’m planning to use Facebook more to engage with people and share my internet marketing life a bit more, I’ve even created my very own like page to offer people access to some great content in return for liking me and my content.

You can check out the like page by clicking on this link and my Facebook homepage by clicking on the Facebook icon in the sidebar. Of course I could do with a few more likes to feel free to click on that magic button to access the content and don’t be shy about telling others about it either ;-)

If you’re curious about how I created the page… I’ll confess to not doing all the heavy lifting myself. I actually used Dave Nicholson and John Thornhill’s Like Page Builder which I found to be pretty simple to get to grips with, not necessarily for the faint hearted as there’s some configuration to do, but a good tool nonetheless.

Let me know what you think of my Facebook and ‘Like’ pages, if you’ve got your own pages to show off then please feel free to add a link in your comments as I’m keen to see what others have come up with in terms of their cover images and timeline content.

Until next time…
